All training at London Studio Centre is delivered with the goal of developing professional practitioners, ready to enter the Dance and Performing Arts industry.
Many of our graduates have taken their skills into the arena of Choreography. For some, this has been after an extensive career as a performer. Others find early on that choreography is where their true passion lies, and begin to establish their practice soon after, or even before, they graduate.
Below, we take a look at just a few of the incredible choreographers who graduated from LSC. This list is presented in alphabetical order.
Dane Bates is one of the most sought-after Commercial Dance choreographers and teachers working in the UK today. Dane graduated from the 
Rafael Bonachela’s reach as a Choreographer and Artistic Director is truly global, and spans a wide variety of media and art forms. Spanish-born Rafael trained in his home country in his early years, before moving to the UK in 1990 to train at LSC. He then joined the Rambert Dance Company as a performer. In 1999 he debuted his first production as a Choreographer, Three Gone, Four Left Standing, at Sadler’s Wells. In 2003, he became Associate Choreographer at Rambert. This was after he had been chosen to choreograph Kylie Minogue’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ performance at the Brit Awards in 2002. His collaboration with major pop artists continued throughout his career, working with personalities such as Tina Turner, The Kills and Primal Scream.
From regular performances with ZooNation during and after his studies, to launching his very own dance company, Liam Francis has a growing reputation as one of the freshest voices in Contemporary Dance.
Ellen Kane’s work as a choreographer, movement director and movement coach has made an enormous impact on UK Musical Theatre and film, earning her multiple Olivier and Tony Award nominations along the way. Ellen graduated from the London Studio Centre Diploma in 1996 and embarked on a career as a performer, working with and learning from top choreographers at the time.
Few living choreographers have made such an impact on UK musical theatre as Stephen Mear. His work has earned him multiple Olivier Awards as well the honour of Commander of the British Empire (CBE), and he remains one of the most sought-after choreographers in the West End and beyond.
Ashley Nottingham already had an impressive career as a performer in West End musical theatre before he started to focus on choreography full-time. Now, with a list of credits that spans stage and television, he has proven himself as a versatile and energetic choreographer with works that have played in the UK and abroad.
Mark Smith graduated from the LSC Diploma in 1991. Born deaf, his lived experience has informed his approach to dance and choreography. Much of his work includes and supports deaf and disabled performers. He is Founder & Artistic Director of 
Nikki Trow is one of the most accomplished choreographer’s in the UK pop and commercial scene. While training at LSC, Nikki toured with the National Youth Dance Company, before graduating as a member of Jazz Co in 2000.
Nikki Woollaston’s extensive list of Director, Assistant Director and Choreographer credits makes it clear that she is one of the most prominent figures in the UK performing arts sector. Nikki graduated from the LSC Diploma in 1988 and her considerable body of work is outlined below.
Yolande graduated from the London Studio Centre diploma in 1988, before dancing with Extemporary Dance Theatre. In 1991, she joined Rambert Dance Company as a performer, before moving to Los Angeles to join the Lewitzky Dance Company, where she danced many lead roles and was appointed a master teacher.
